Export and sharing
Export renders the current composition directly to a local file using the settings supported by the machine.
Choose a format
- WebM uses the WebM container with an encoder available on the current machine.
- MP4 uses the MP4 container when Beam finds a compatible hardware or software encoder.
Encoder availability
A format can be unavailable when the machine does not provide a compatible encoder. Beam reports this before or during export.
Choose a resolution
- 720p scales down to an HD output when the native canvas is large enough.
- 1080p scales down to Full HD when the native canvas is large enough.
- Max keeps the native output canvas dimensions.
Choose quality and bitrate
Low, medium, and high presets calculate a bitrate from the output dimensions and frame rate. Medium balances clarity and file size, while high prioritizes visual fidelity.

Beam displays frame progress while rendering. You can cancel an active export or copy its diagnostic report. Live editor changes do not modify a file that is already rendering.
Open the result
After a successful export, Beam reports the saved filename and provides an action to open the file. If export fails, copy the technical report before asking for help on Discord or GitHub.
